Course Introduction
Week 1
Students will be introduced to the workflow of this course, introduce you to the studio and the materials and processes of screenprinting.
Exercises and Skills
Weeks 2 – 7
The initial work in this course is to become familiar with making prints. You will be taught different processes and how to best use the materials.
Student Project
Weeks 8 – 12
After exercises, students are introduced to the Student Project, and begin working on it.

Week 1: 2/3/26 Introduction
Introduction to screenprinting tools, materials, and basic techniques.
Week 2: 2/10/26 Stencils 1
Learn what a stencil is and how to use them for screnprinting.
Week 3: 2/17/26 Stencils 2
Apply last week’s learning by making or finalizing stencil prints.
Week 4: 2/24/26 Drawing Fluid 1
Students will learn how draw directly on a screen, and to use a more durable material.
Week 5: 3/3/26 Drawing Fluid 2
Students will apply learning to continue the prints previously begun with drawing fluid.
Week 6: 3/10/26 Emulsion & Exposure 1
Learn the step-by-step process of screen exposure and printing with emulsion fluid.
Week 7: 3/17/26 Emulsion & Exposure 1
Students apply last week’s learning to make prints accurate with emulsion.
Week 8: 3/24/26 Emulsion & Exposure 3
Prints are finalized for this phase. These prints should show accuracy and growth.
Week 9: 3/31/26 Spring Break 2026
There are no classes during Spring Break. Project work resumes next week.
Week 10: 4/8/26 Final Student Project 1
By this point students have a clear idea of what they will make, and which process(es) will be used.
Week 11: 4/15/26 Final Student Project 2
Students work on their prints and designs. Experimentation is encouraged at this stage1
Week 12: 4/22/26 Final Student Project 3
Students will critique thier work, and learn what is working well in the prints. Printing continues.
Week 13: 4/29/26 Final Student Project 4
Students continue to develop thier ideas for prints, and put the ideas to practice.
Week 14: 5/6/26 Final Student Project 5
Students move towards finalizing thier work, and being ready for the final presentation.
Week 15: 5/13/26 FINAL Presentation
Final print editions are presented. There is a class critique and print-sharing.
