Engagement & Classwork35%Classwork exercises are assigned for over half of the semester. You will use differing materials with those exercises to gain experience and be informed enough to make confident choices for your project. That project will be made with your chosen ideas and images will naturally be developed through conscious, intentional choices.
Final Portfolio Project40%The final project consists of a portfolio of prints that you will make. Your exposure to differing techniques and materials will enable you to develop a project that you can present and describe with precision and discipline-specific vocabulary. The project should exhibit your understanding of the need to be able to talk about the choices you have made; knowing the what, how, and why of your project shows that you understand that making art requires intention, articulation, and creative practice.

Can I improve my grade through revisions?

As all class time is used up in our weekly meetings, there will be no extra time available for this type of reworking. However, if you were willing to use the studio outside of class time, er could talk about that. I cannot ask any of you to do work outside of class time, as this course does not include any homework time.
